A Bigger Purpose

At Valpo, you can be part of something greater than yourself. Not only a community of brilliant students and professors. But a community of faith, rooted in our history as an independent Lutheran institution. Here, you’ll have the support to develop a spiritual practice that works for you, and the strength to take those principles into any field you choose.

All Are Welcome
Ethics, service, and a Lutheran sense of mission are at the heart of the Valpo experience. You’ll be part of a vibrant, diverse community where religious faith deepens secular learning—whether you’re Protestant, Catholic, Muslim, Buddhist, or part of countless other faith traditions.
Our Mission
Chapel of the Resurrection
The Chapel of the Resurrection is—literally and figuratively—at the center of life at Valpo. Two university pastors are dedicated to serving your spiritual needs if you choose, and you’ll have opportunities for worship on campus every day.
Explore the Chapel
Campus Ministries
The opportunities to explore your faith go far beyond the chapel walls. You might decide to join our Social Action Leadership Team (SALT), a Spirit-led social justice organization. Or you might become a Peer Minister, providing personal and spiritual mentorship to your fellow Valpo students.
